Switching to private practice in 2020, Cass has handled hundreds of cases in Massachusetts, New York, and Louisiana—spanning criminal defense, civil rights (false arrest, excessive force), construction litigation, breach of contract, contract drafting and business law
Cass began his career as a criminal defense investigator in Washington, D.C., before earning his J.D. from Harvard Law School. He then served with Gideon’s Promise in Louisiana, rising to chief public defender in Vermillion Parish. Later, he continued his career as a senior trial attorney with Brooklyn Defender Services.
